Researcher at UGent, I work on optimizing urine and manure processing plant to increase nutrient and water recovery. At festivals such as the Gentse Feesten and Dranouter we turn urine into fertilizers and from the recuperated water we brew the latest generation of Sewer to Brewer beer !

As a Ghent University communication staff member I think it’s very important that science and society stick together. Last year I organised 200 years Ghent University which at its main event showed this connection does work. And if you can combine it with cosiness and a drink, honestly, what could be better…
